ChatterBugs was founded by two sisters, Nikki Rubin and Michelle Aylon, with a passion for helping kids. At Chatterbugs, we believe that every child deserves to reach their full communication potential. We are committed to providing individualized and evidence-based therapy to support children of all ages.

Michelle Aylon

M.A., CCC-SLP

Michelle Aylon, M.A. CCC-SLP is a dedicated and highly skilled licensed pediatric speech language pathologist with over ten years of experience. Her passion lies in helping children overcome speech and language impairments to reach their full communication potential.

Michelle graduated from University of Michigan with an undergraduate degree in Psychology before pursuing her Masters in Speech Language Pathology at George Washington University.

Prior to co-founding ChatterBugs, Michelle worked as a speech language pathologist and clinical supervisor for a large private practice. In this role, she provided direct therapy to children, supervised speech language pathologists, and trained new and seasoned clinicians. Her excellent clinic skills and welcoming personality made her a trusted and respected figure among her colleagues.

Throughout her career, Michelle has gained extensive experience working with children with a variety of speech and language impairments. Her expertise includes addressing articulation difficulties, expressive and receptive language delays, fluency disorders, auditory comprehension and processing difficulties, social pragmatic language skills, and augmentative and alternative communication methods.

Michelle is trained in the Lidcombe Program, a behavioral treatment for children with fluency disorders, and the PROMPT technique, a multidimensional approach to speech production disorders. Additionally, she has pursued further training in treatment techniques for early intervention, children on the Autism spectrum, social pragmatic language, and childhood apraxia of speech.

Michelle's commitment to staying at the forefront of her field is evident through her specialized training and dedication to ongoing professional development. With her comprehensive skill set, empathetic nature, and the ability to create individualized therapy plans, Michelle strives to empower children to communicate effectively and confidently. Her dedication, mentoring abilities, and warm personality have contributed to her success as a speech language pathologist, making her a respected and sought-after professional in the field of pediatric speech therapy.

Nikki Rubin

M.S., CCC-SLP

Nikki Rubin, M.S. CCC-SLP is a licensed pediatric speech language pathologist.

She graduated from University of Southern California with an undergraduate degree in Public Relations, with a double minor in Psychology and Business. Nikki continued on to complete her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders at California State University Northridge. 

Throughout her graduate and post-graduate career, Nikki has worked with a variety of age groups with various speech and language disorders. She has worked on articulation, expressive and receptive language, auditory comprehension and processing skills, short-term memory, social pragmatic language skills, fluency disorders, augmentative and alternative communication, and oral motor strength. Additionally, Nikki has experience working with children on the Autism spectrum and with low to non-verbal children.

Nikki is trained in the PROMPT technique, a multidimensional approach to speech production disorders. Additionally, Nikki is trained in Hanen’s It Takes Two To Talk Program for early intervention and the Lidcombe Program, a behavioral treatment for children under 6 years old with fluency disorders. 

Maddy Risbrough

M.S., CCC-SLP

Maddy Risbrough, M.S., CCC-SLP is a licensed pediatric speech language pathologist.

She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Maddy continued her education at the University of Redlands and received a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Maddy has provided individualized therapy to children with a variety of communication disorders including articulation, receptive and expressive language skills, social pragmatic language skills, augmentative and alternative communication, and fluency. Additionally, Maddy provided speech services in an Integrated Therapeutic Services Preschool for children that have been diagnosed with autism or related disorders.

Maddy is trained in More Than Words, The Hanen Program for parents of autistic children or children who may benefit from social communication support. Additionally, she is trained in the PROMPT technique, a multidimensional approach to speech production disorders.
